Blessings in unexpected places

Good quote today from Abraham (receive the daily e-mail here). Reminded me of where I'd been that seemed so in despair and horrible at the time and now it's led me to the open house party of Yoga Patch. Without being in the car accident, I probably wouldn't have discovered yoga and fallen in love with it so deeply, now sharing it as an instructor in a brand new studio right by my house.

During a Unity sermon I sat in a few years ago, the reverand once said "horrible" events in our lives are either to bless us in some way later or for us to be a blessing. Maybe both happened in this situation.

If you're in Kansas City, hope you can join us for one of the events this weekend.

"There will be a time, not so far from now, that you will look back on this phase of your life and instead of condemning it or beating up on it... Instead of blaming or guilting, you will feel appreciation for it, because you will understand that a renewed desire for life was born out of this time period that will bring you to physical heights that you could not have achieved without the contrast that gave birth to this desire."

Being one is fun!

"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined."

- Henry David Thoreau

Today is our daughter's first birthday, and she had her first bite of sugar this weekend - yum. Seems like just yesterday she was born.

My hope for Brijin Joy on her first birthday is that she learns she can follow her dreams and can make them happen! Life is your oyster, kiddo, and it's just waiting for you to find it's precious pearls!

We love you baby girl! Thank you for bringing so much joy and blessings into our lives. We've had an amazing first year with you and are eagerly anticipating watching you grow and bloom right where you're planted, just like your daisy birthday cake. ;)

"The soul is healed by being with children."
Fyodor Dostoevsky

True. True. Now that I have my own baby, this quote resonates so deeply. Ironically, I have been receiving in my daily quote e-mail a ton of ones centered around children and how they affect us. Thank you God for our beautiful baby girl! She's exactly what we needed in our lives and in our family.

Have a great weekend!

Reach for your joy

"When you feel enthusiasm to do something, it means you've lined up the Energy, and you are being inspired to take action from that point of alignment. When you don't feel like doing it, don't push yourself, because your effort is not worth it. But, when you line up the Energy, the feeling of procrastination goes away."

"You have been oriented that you must pay a price in order to get somewhere, and in the process, you’ve come to believe that getting there must be really important, therefore, it must be your purpose. And we say, but if you’re not getting to joy, then you’ve gotten nowhere. Joy is really where you’re going."

~ Abraham-Hicks

Lately I've been inspired to concentrate on writing beyond my blog and submit articles to various publications, mainly about yoga. One morning I woke up and just began free-flow writing with such passion and enjoyment - it was exhilarating. With the baby coming though, I feel like I should be solely concentrating on our baby's arrival. Yet, when I think about writing on my love of yoga, I have such joy and energy I feel like it is the direction I am supposed to be moving towards, as Abraham speaks about above.

I see only blue skies

"Positive emotions empower; negative emotions disempower."
~ Gary Zukav

Well, I woke up too early again last night and on a Saturday no less. Not cool at all. The fortunate thing is I can take a nap this afternoon, although my parents are in town visiting for the weekend so I may power through (Not that they would mind me taking a nap; we're napping people!).

I believe I woke up early due to allowing work stuff get to me again. I'm really focusing on the negative versus the positive, and it needs to STOP NOW! Not only for me, but for the health of my baby.

Better squeeze some yoga in before my mom and I go to Babies R' Us to register.

"When the day is cloudy, the blue sky is limited, when it is clear the beauty is all around. Harmful thoughts act as gray clouds to your positive perception, so create a wind of hopefulness and blow away those clouds and be captivated by the beauty of freedom."
~ Allen Steble

I love quotes, but I'm in more a quote mood than usual today because I discovered Quotiki. It's a "
social quotes site that lets you quickly find and enjoy quotes. As a member ... you can start tagging, submitting, rating and collecting quotes."

I will act NOW

"I will act now. I will act now. I will act now. Henceforth, I will repeat these words each hour, each day, everyday, until the words become as much a habit as my breathing, and the action which follows becomes as instinctive as the blinking of my eyelids. With these words I can condition my mind to perform every action necessary for my success. I will act now. I will repeat these words again and again and again. I will walk where failures fear to walk. I will work when failures seek rest. I will act now for now is all I have. Tomorrow is the day reserved for the labour of the lazy. I am not lazy. Tomorrow is the day when the failure will succeed. I am not a failure. I will act now. Success will not wait. If I delay, success will become wed to another and lost to me forever. This is the time. This is the place. I am the person."

~ Og Mandino
