I'm a super model, kind of

I never thought I'd have Demi photos taken of me and my burgeoning, bare belly, but I succumbed...

As you can see in the "behind-the-scenes" shot, I was treated like a model, albeit a plus-size model. And look at the magic of PhotoShop - isn't it amazing?

Not sure what I'll ever do with these photos besides sharing them on my blog so you can make fun of me; guess baby's book will at least have a few good bump shots.

One suggestion for you pregnant ladies thinking of doing this... Take the photos in your seventh month when your face and arms still look thin. I missed that window of opportunity, unfortunately!

Rock-star parking

Although it was a gloomy, stormy Monday, I didn't mind because I knew I had a rock-star parking spot waiting for me at work thanks to my little jelly in the belly!

People at the office told me I could request parking for expectant mothers, but I just kept forgetting to follow up. I finally remembered to send an e-mail Friday - the contact told me my own personal spot would be ready for me on Monday - even has my name on the sign! It's all mine and is about 15 steps away from the front door. A huge improvement to the parking I typically find at work by the time I arrive at 8:30 a.m.
I also saw these two geese walking together tonight as I left work. Thought they were cute...

After a week off from teaching yoga due to the wood floors being redone at the YMCA, I returned to the mat. Boy what a difference a week makes. I teach power vinyasa-style yoga, and at 30 weeks it's getting more difficult for me to teach and demonstrate various postures. The hardest part is talking as I'm doing even the simplest things, which causes me to easily lose my breath. Plus, I'm just getting large enough to be uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong, yoga is still doable as a pregnant woman and very beneficial, but power yoga is probably not the best type, especially in the third trimester.

Here's a great posture to do for your hips and groin - plus it's nice and relaxing. Cobbler's pose against the wall; feels so good!

The belly solicits ALL types of comments

My belly is becoming more and more prominent so everyone wants to share with me their personal pregnancy stories ... or their friends' pregnancy story ... or their cousin's friend's experience. When random strangers share cute anecdotes, it's kind of heartwarming. Like the other night, our server at my favorite Chinese restaurant was going on and on about various oddities that occured during her two pregnancies. However, I dread those who love to share the long labor stories or anything to do with how difficult it will be when the baby arrives. No negativity please! Not interested!

Guess I should be jubilant random peeps haven't begun touching and rubbing my bump yet. Don't know how I'm going to feel about that. I'm actually a fairly touchy person so it probably won't be so excruciating, but time will tell.

Here's my bump last week at 25 weeks and my hubby's sympathy bump, which he is OBVIOUSLY sticking out on purpose!

Another celeb bump (maybe more!)

Okay, I must have another celebrity gossip session (my weakness!) about the newly expecting.

Gwen Stefani is the latest to join the preggers club for the second time. Her son Kingston is adorable so I can only imagine how cute this next one will be. There's also speculation Brangelina is pregnant again - she wore a very floaty dress at the SAG awards this past Sunday and apparently they walked past the media.

I guess there really is a celebrity baby boom!

Showing at 15 weeks - RAMA?

Apparently I'm beginning to show. The last few days, once I break the news to someone, he or she says, "I was wondering..." Well, what's that supposed to mean?? Is the bump really that noticeable? I can still fit into my normal jeans without any struggle. In fact, some of my pants fit me better now - I swear my butt is getting smaller while my belly enlarges! Fine by me!

Since I'm beginning to show, I figure I better start looking for some maternity yoga clothes. Surfing online, I'm not seeing much and what I am seeing is kind of pricey. After googling "pregnancy yoga clothes" I found a decent article on this topic, such as where to shop and what you should buy on www.BabyFit.com. Here's the list of suggestions for mothers to be in terms of workout gear:
  • 1 pair maternity fitness shorts
  • 1 pair maternity yoga pants (long or capri); for yoga or any activity
  • 2 really good and supportive bras
  • 1 supportive swimsuit for any kind of water workout
  • 2 maternity tanks or tees for layering

Since I teach yoga 3x week, I'm not sure if that's enough yoga pants... guess I'll be a smelly teacher! :)
